Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much notice do I need to give to order a wedding cake?
A: Preferably at least 3 months. This allows for fruit cakes to mature. Also, I limit the number of cakes I make per week to ensure that each one receives the attention to detail that it requires.Q: What types of cake can you supply?
A: I make traditional rich fruit cakes, which are allowed to mature with brandy. I can also supply chocolate, carrot, plain and flavoured sponges.Q: Do tiered cakes have to be the same i.e. all fruit?
A: No. You can have all tiers in different mediums if you wish. For example, you
may decide to have one tier fruit, one tier chocolate and one tier carrot etc.Q: Can you make a gluten free cake?
A: I can supply gluten and wheat free cakes.Q: Are the flowers edible?
A: Although the flowers are hand made from edible ingredients, they are assembled using wires. This therefore makes them inedible.Q: How long will the sugar flowers keep?
A: The sugar flowers will keep indefinitely if stored correctly – in a dry atmosphere. They will fade if exposed to direct sunshine. It is best if they can be displayed in a glass-fronted cabinet.Q: When do I pay?
A: A 25% non returnable deposit is required when placing an order. Payment in full is required 10 days prior to the delivery date.
